Summer to Fall Event - Support the Community Garden: Krazy Acres will be the place for the new Community Garden. They will be working with local individuals and service groups. Currently there is a tool drive for the Ionia County Community Food Network. ( A collaboration of community gardens, food distribution sites, and volunteer resources.) Anyone who wishes to donate gently used tools to local community gardens can drop them off at ENRICH during regular office hours. Summer to Fall Event -The Ionia Community Library has several upcoming events, including digital photography classes, a musician and story teller, free movies, and much more. Follow our link in the City/Govt section in the right panel. The library has events of interest for all ages.
June 16 - July 28: Ionia rocks each Tuesday
evening beginning June 16, as Music on the Green celebrates
its second year. Concerts are held rain or shine on the lawn of
the First United Methodist Church, 105 East
Main Street. Bring your lawn chair and be entertained on those
warm summer nights. Admission is free! If you
would like to sponsor an evening or showcase your musical
talents, please contact Pastor Larry Brown at
527-4654. Start time: 7:30p.m.

July 16 - 25: The Best 10 Days of the Summer! The
Ionia Free Fair needs no other introduction. Call the Fair

The WB Music Festival/Grillin' Challenge - 2009 (All Day)
The WB Outreach Task Force PRESENTS our first "Music Festival -
Grillin' Challenge - 2009. We have lined up seven bands
to play for your entertainment starting at 9:00 am, the last
band of the day has agreeded to play as long as there are people
in the hall, so come out and enjoy the day, listen to some
wonderful music by bands from your neighborhood. We have Classic
Country, Country Rock, Christian, Blues, and Rock 'N' Roll.
There will be music that everyone can enjoy. Don't forget while
the music is cooking inside the Ebenezer Center, the GRILLS will
be cooking outside! We are looking for "THE BEST BURGER IN IONIA
COUNTY!" With a $500.00 Grand Prize, plus "The People's Choice
Award," it is guaranteed to be a great time for all who attend.
We will have two classes each for any Beef, Pork. one for
Chicken. One that is "Anything Goes", a Dessert, and any two
side dishes you want to make. The Grillin' entry fee is just
$30.00. So call or write for more information today, and we will
get a complete information packet sent out to you. COME JOIN THE

August 16: Ionia Gets Rocked By Vegas!
Salute to the Superstars - Elvis, Roy Orbison, the Blues
Brothers and
Neil Diamond. Doors open at 1 p.m., show starts at 2 p.m. All
proceeds benefit the Ionia County Historical
Society. For more information and tickets, contact the Theatre
at 527-3860. Tickets are $12.50 in advance and
$15 at the door.

Thursday, September 10: The Ionia Community Library will host a visit from Metro Paranormal Investigations on Thursday, September 10 at 7 p.m. in the Ionia Theatre in downtown Ionia. The group will highlight their investigations and reveal evidence from their most challenging case files. This event will include a multi-media presentation, Q&A session, and a high-tech equipment display. This program is intended for individuals 12 and older. Tuesday, November 10: Dive under the seas in search of the Edmund Fitzgerald and other lost shipwrecks when the Ionia Community Library hosts “The Gales of November” shipwreck program on Tuesday, November 10 at 7 p.m. at the Ionia Theatre. Michigan Shipwreck Research Associate Valerie van Heest will present a multimedia program which exhibits a great combination of science, exploration, and storytelling.
