This is our first year at the Chili-Dawg Challenge, and it looks like a huge success. WION Radio's Jim Carlyle was broadcasting live throught the event. The sky was clear, with a cool wind, crowd was great, as hundreds came down town to feast on hot-dogs, chicken wings, and brocks. The fastest Chili-Dawg sell outs were Angel Dawgs, Independent Bank, and Olivera's. After the results were finalized, Olivera's announced their full proceeds would go to Big Brothers and Big Sisters. The Chili-Dawg eating contestants must be feeling full after Friday's event. There wasn't many scraps left on the table. From my view, there were no losers. The Chili-Dawg Challenge certainly will grow each year. This three and one-half hour party is one of the best seasonal events in this county. If you didn't attend this year, be sure to mark your calendar for next year. Please, support your local Big Brothers and Big Sisters origanization.
