August 7, 2008 the Ionia Theatre and Ionia Historical Society presented part one of the ''Battle of the Decades''.
Proceeds from the performances will be used to restore and maintain old photos and books in the Blanchard House.
The opening act, The Rydell's, a local Doopp group presented a good mix of late 50's acapella harmony.
This was my first experience listing to there multi-talent presentation. They had the audience singing along
and drew out the best in everyone in the crowd.  We look forward to seeing them again!!!
The second act, Brian Grob as Buddy Holly.  Brian was a lightning bolt all night long. He was cascading
through the large audience like a cat with his tail on fire.  His energy level was in high gear through out
his entire performance was exciting from his entrance to his exit. You must see him on a return visit.
After the first two acts, Fred "Elvis" Wolfe, entered the stage in his gold jacket, a famous outfit of Elvis.
From his first song Fred had the audience in the palm of his hands. His voice was clear, and he never
missed a beat.  There where many standing ovations and thunderous cheers.  His performance
this evening was the best we have ever seen.  Fred is a favorite of this area.  Don't miss his next visit!!!
