Smiling Sweetly
Intimidated by no one
Not even twice her size
Feisty little girl of six
Playing under the Florida sun
Her big brother taught her well
Or was it life itself
Not to back down
No matter what!
Lad of ten
Picking on her
Was brought to his knees
With the help of a board
Only to run home crying
To his dad who
Much to his dismay dragged
Back to the group
Of playing children
Demanding to know
Which of the big boys
Did this to his son
Ignoring the boys
The lad pointed his finger
At a tiny lass
Half his size
Who smiled sweetly
You let HER beat you up?
The dad belched out
And much to the lad's dismay
Marched him back to the house
To teach him another lesson
One I'm sure he never forgot
While a tiny lass watched
Who was smiling sweetly.
