The Last Gasp
The calm before the storm,
Life forces gathered within,
His soul centers itself,
Awaiting a much better world.
Phlegm rattling in the chest,
The grim reaper's calling card,
Family and friends hold vigil,
Centered with knowledge of death.
Blanket of gloom in the room,
Personal thoughts unspoken,
While elements range one last battle,
A fight whose end is foreseen.
The last gasping breath gives peace,
Release of slow torture within.
Go in peace no more pain or fights
Just a reward for your many sacrifices
