Try as I might,
Nothing can shake,
This darkness inside,
Festering, burning.

Hopeless to cure,
Time will improve it,
Nothing else to do
But ride the storm out.

Been here so long,
Part of me buried,
Showing it's ugly head,

Trauma talked out,
So why does it linger?
